Educating

The History of Social Care
Social care was first established in 1601. The Tudor establishment passed the Poor Relief Act 1601, which made civil parishes (a local government unit) responsible for providing basic health, domestic care, housing, and employment support, to those in need; this was one of the earliest acts of Parliament to offer statutory support.
The Present Day
Fast forward to today and we see Social Care as the poor relation to Health Care. Now largely a private industry unlike the heavily funded NHS the individuality of the Social Care providers makes it difficult to create a collective communication and education strategy.
Our goal is to start to make a difference in this area by working across sectors promoting the positive aspects that are exhibited everyday across the UK.
